WHAT IS SPIRITUAL DIRECTION?
Spiritual direction is “help given by one Christian to another which enables that person to pay attention to God’s personal communication to him or her, to respond to this personally communicating God, to grow in intimacy with this God, and to live out the consequences of the relationship.” (William A. Barry and William J. Connolly, The Practice of Spiritual Direction)
WHY SPIRITUAL DIRECTION?
Often, the activity of God is masked by busyness and goes unnoticed as one goes about life. Spiritual direction is a slowing down that tunes us into the workings of our spiritual life. The goal of spiritual direction is to deepen one’s relationship and intimacy with the Divine; to discover, attend to, and savor the presence of God in our everyday lives and experiences.
